This is a nice idea and gave me a lot of thinking about as i have 4 children.
I would make this count water quantity and not time. For quantity counting i would use cheap water meter that is easily hackable for getting output 1 or even 0,1 liters.
As it is for shower you can use normally...
I received mail from Rev-Ed (24-09) informing me that my project got a prize and asked me to send them postal address.
Now its almost a month passed and haven't received that prize. Orders from techsupplies take about week to arrive.

I have scooter derbi hunter with digital speedo that went nuts and shows me max 30 km/h. Input is from reed switch that gives 1 pulse per revolution. Brain is PIC16C822 as seen in the picture.

This is project that I made for my brother, it will go to his garage after he finishes casing.
It shows time, inside and outside temperature. Brain for the clock is axe200 module that controls ds1307 rtc and 3 saa1064 chips. I`m not going in details because ho is skilled enough to solder smd...
That was the main reason to do this project, because everybody in this forum said picaxe is to slow and it cant be done. I just wanted to prove that it can be done.
