Day 1 - Setting up the project

Hi

My plan over the next 29 days is to convert the 15 page Sparkfun Inventor's Guide from the Arduino version to a picaxe version. Why 29 days do you ask? Well the origianal source files from oomlout are in Corel Draw and I only have an old version, so I have downloaded the fully featured 30 day trial version that I installed yesterday, hence only 29 days left.

My aim
I want to start formally writing usable education marterial for my students, other students and hobbists. I also don't want to reinvent the wheel, so I contacted the folks at oomlout and they are happy for me to picaxe their work, just as the people from sparkfun, adafruit and others have adjusted their original set experiments for the kits each of the stores sell.

My Process
I plan to rewrite each of the circuit code to work with the Picaxe Shield Base. I have looked at some of the prac already and some will introduce more advanced features of picaxe earlier than I would normally but that is one of the differences between the Arduino and the Picaxe Shield Base. Due how the pins are distributed on the Sheild Base sequencing becomes more difficult.

The board
The layout board basically fits the Picaxe Shield Base except the front left hole on the shield is set too far back, this is where all the headers for choosing voltage etc.
