programming editor background color

how can i hange background color from white to black? it is more confortable for my eyes to have black unlike white. thank

The Programmmer Editor appears to takes the selected system colour scheme and uses the background colour from that. I have a Windows colour scheme of white on black and get a black background in the Editor. There's no explicit background colour setting in the Editor so I don't know any other way to alter it.
