installation error

when i try to install bas805.exe i get the following error:
Error reading setup initalization file

i am running XP home

i have the same problem on a laptop running windows 2000. i have downloaded the software 4 times

This error normally occurs when the downloaded file is put in a folder with other installation files (from other software installations) in it, confusing the installer service (e.g. on the desktop).

Try putting the file bas805.exe downloaded into a new, empty folder and run from there.

I have tried the fix suggested but I also get the 'Error reading Setup initialization file' whenever I try to run the install file.

Have downloaded the file multiple times but no difference.

Have tried compatibilty settings but no joy, (I'm running WinXP SP1).

Anyone have any other ideas?

I have also installing from Safe Mode, also unsuccessful.

Since nothing has helped with not getting this error and no-one has suggested anything that works: Does anyone have an earlier version, (3.4.0), that I can try to install and then upgrade?

All versions are created using the same version of InstallShield so this would not make any difference.
