Just wondering, would it be possible to remotely program the PICAXE chip using infrared or radio as a transmission medium rather than the serial cable? e.g having an infrared transmitter on the serial output and a receiver on the picaxe input.

I can see problems with a common ground and lack of full-duplex, but does anyone think its possible? Within reason of course.

Thanks

This chesnut has emerged often in the past (do a Forum search) & is somewhat of a Picaxe Holy Grail quest! At this stage the general consensus is that it's NOT POSSIBLE, although recent " 2 wire" work via Hippy looks promising. Stan

If you do ever manage to work it out.
Either using IR, 433Mhz or ZigBee etc, just be sure to drop us a line in here as to
which CH, etc you are going to use.
I'd hate for my chicken door opener to turn
into a chicken roaster overnight,,,, ~ ;o)
