Downloading Problems

Software successfully loaded onto school network. Running picaxe 18. Most workstations will not download programs.
error message appears: Error:5 invalid procedure call or argument. Some workstations will download sometimes. Do you have any suggestions

 

An irregular download pattern implies that the serial port is not correctly selected or in use by other program.

Also make sure the student profiles have temporary read/write access for temporary files. If necessary this path can be manually edited in the file network.ini within the installtion folder.

I have made alterations to the network.ini file on all of the stations that are experieincing this problem although the same error still occurs. The machines have been restarted since the file was updated. We are using RM CC3 just incase there are any knows issues.

Error 5 can also be generated when CC3 prevents 16 bit applications running (the PICAXE compiler files are 16 bit). Make sure each user has 'Legacy applications' enabled.
