Connecting a Picaxe 14m with and LCD HD44780 standard

I've written a blog post about how to go on doing the connection between the picaxe14m and 16x2 LCD (HD447080 standard), and decided to post it here as a finished project.

I know it's not really a project, but might help people get their projects finished

Good choice on taking Output 0 ( Serial Out ) to RS as that means download and changing output levels should not affect the LCD.

I'd be very cautious of taking 0V/+V straight to the LCD backlight as not all LCD's have backlight current limiting resistors on board. Should also really put a 100nF across the supply for decoupling.

There's a couple of minor mis-matches between vero-board layout and cicuit diagram, no cut between 0V and LCD D1, so it's not N/C. Also Serial In is tied to 0V, not N/C.
