Welcome to the forum.

Re reducing servo noise.
When it comes to motors and gears you really do get what you pay for.
You've used plastic gears which is good for noise. Packing with grease should also help. However, your motor/servo will be noisy and there is not much you can do about that except attempt to prevent the noise from getting out by using rubber mounts. Coating the casing with aluminium foil coated in soft tar, mastic (or any other heavy sticky subtance) will help to absorb it.

If you want to spend some more money (quite a bit more), get a quality motor/gearbox from a reputable company like MAXON.
It will run almost silent!
It will also save a LOT of battery.
Cheap motors (~£1) are about 10% efficient.
A comparable quality motor/gearbox (~£30) will be about 80% efficient.

A factor of 30 difference in price might at first sound massive, but when weighed against the cost of batteries and the improved performance, reliability and noise issues, it's not that bad.
They really are 30 times better!

Thanks for your welcome, my mistake, i should have stated 'electrical noise'. it seems to be affecing the internal clocking of the picaxe. I've posted on the main forum in more detail about this.
