Error 5

We have downloaded the latest version of PICAXE Programming Editor and rolled it out on our RM Connect3 network but find that it always gives error 5 (invalid procedure?) when trying to download a program to a PICAXE. Any ideas?

Make sure the correct serial port is selected (View>Options menu). Also make sure CC3 is not set to the High Security setting, which bans all talking via the serial port and is not recommended by RM.

Error 5 can also be generated when CC3 prevents 16 bit applications running (the PICAXE compiler files are 16 bit). Make sure the user has 'Legacy applications' enabled.
